Who we are

Cary Sowell, Head Librarian at the Northridge Campus is proud to introduce her staff. At the Reference Desk, our full-time reference librarians are Teresa Ashley and Jon Luckstead. Part-time librarians you may see include Sara Lee, Carlyn Gray, Ruth Cook, and Jane Thomas. Theresa Foster is Senior Administrative Assistant. The Circulation Desk staff are Senior Library Assistant Maria Taylor and Library Assistants Mike Herndon and Galen Hodges.

Our facilities

The Northridge Library opened with the new campus in 1989. It was moved from the first full time campus of ACC, the Ridgeview Campus, which was returned to AISD when NRG opened. We were able to move the wonderful mural called Homage to the Letterform, painted by the Commercial Art Department students, to its present location as it was painted on canvas. The library still serves this program, now called Visual Communication. Other unique programs served by the Northridge Library include Photography, Commercial Music, Architectural and Engineering Computer Aided Design and Radio Television Film. We are open seven days a week during the semester to serve our students, faculty and others. The library has an open atmosphere with a vaulted ceiling and lots of long, high windows that let in plenty of natural light. It is a pleasant place to study, relax, get help with research assignments, to check email or use the new wireless internet available to students and ACC staff.
