* What is it?

Only selected required textbooks are now available for free semester checkout.  These are selected and supplied by the ACC Support Centers and are shelved at the RVS library. If your classes are at a different campus, you may ask your campus library to get the textbook from RVS for you.

* Who is eligible for the books?

The books are purchased through a grant by the ACC Student Support Center to assist certain student groups to gain access to required textbooks.

  1. Before classes start (and later), the students in the Early Access Group are eligible for access to the books. (They must first obtain an authorization form from Student Support.)
  2. During the first week of classes, students in any Workforce Program may be eligible for access to the books. (They must first obtain an authorization form from Student Support.)
  3. After the first week of classes, all students are eligible.

* What must you bring to the library in order to check out textbooks?

  • Eligible students (during the week before classses and the first week of classes) must get an authorization form from the Support Center and take an ACC photo ID to an ACC Library.  RGC does not have a Support Center, so you must go to any other ACC campus to get an authorization form.
  • After the first week of class, any ACC student can checkout books from the collection and will need to take an ACC photo ID to the library with them.

* Where can I find out what textbooks I need?

Textbook information is available at the official ACC campus bookstore or from your professor.See specific shortcuts.
BE SURE YOU KNOW WHICH TEXTBOOK TO GET. Different sections of the same course may use different texts, depending on what the instructor has selected.
