* How can I check to see if the books are available? The Library maintains a list of the Textbook Collection in alphabetical order by title that you can check. (This link is also available in the right sidebar on the catalog.) In the example below, the first two copies are on reserve in the library. The next three are part of the Textbook Collection for semester checkout (but they’re already checked out). ![]() *
Can I request that a textbook be put aside for me? During eligibility periods, students with approved authorization forms must go in person to campus libraries to request available textbooks. After the two weeks of eligibility periods expire, any student may call or visit campus libraries to place a hold on an available textbook. However, students should first check the library catalog (http://alicat.austincc.edu) to see if the textbook is available before calling. * Can textbooks be sent to my campus or held for me at RVS? Yes. Ask the librarian. It usually takes two weekdays for a book to arrive. Or the librarian can call Riverside and the book will be held for you to pick up there. * How many textbooks can I check out and how long do they check out? Students may check out up to five textbooks unless otherwise authorized by the Support Center. They are available for semester checkout. They are due the last day of classes. * Whom do I call if I have questions? Please call the Support Centers if you have questions about the textbook collection. You may also visit their home page is http://www.austincc.edu/supcntr/.
