Paper Requirements
It’s always important to match the requirements of your assignment to the topic. The research part of a 3-page paper is going to be a lot different than a 10-page one.
The shorter the paper, the more specific your topic should be.
At first you might think it would be easier to write about a larger topic because there will be plenty of information. However there’s a good chance you will drown in it. A specific topic with a manageable amount of information will be easier usually.
Don’t waste time or lose points because you didn’t follow your teacher’s instructions.
Be sure you understand...
- If you get to select your own topic or have to use an assigned one.
- How long the paper should be.
- Any requirements about how many and what kind of sources are to be used.
- What kind of documentation of sources is required.
- When it is due.
Students are sick of hearing it, but here goes anyway ...
Waiting until the last minute to write a paper is a really bad idea!
