Summary

Using several sources helps assure you are really covering a topic and not getting a limited view. Different types of sources assure you will get background, current research, facts, opinions, etc.

Everything Is Not on the Internet: There are still many great sources that are not available on the web. Also there are many high-quality sources on the Internet that are restricted to certain users. The library's subscription databases are examples.

Library Catalog: The ACC library catalog lists print and electronic books at all the campuses.

Periodical Databases: Some of the most useful online sources are databases with the full-text of articles from thousands of newspapers, magazines, and journals. Academic Search Complete is a particularly useful one.

Subject-specific Databases: There are many reference and periodical online databases that focus on a particular subject area.

Web Subject Directories: High quality web sites selected by humans and arranged by topics; a good alternative to general search engines.
