New Books!

Sometimes the Web is not the best or fastest resource to use to get information. There are many excellent economics encyclopedias and dictionaries in the reference areas of campus libraries as well as books that can be borrowed from the library. There are also e-books that can be read online. Look for the ebooksymbol in your results after searching in the library's online catalog.

To search for books and videos on economics, go to the library catalog. You can search by call number (HB-HJ), to browse the collection online.

Economics call numbers:

HB Economic Theory HC Economic history and conditions
HF Commerce HG Finance

You can also search by keywords and phrases, such as price indicators, stocks and bonds, investments, economic trends, etc. You can use such terms to search periodical indexes for magazine and journal articles or to search the Web. If you use a search engine like Google, always use its "advanced search"....you'll be glad you did!

Remember that you can ask a reference librarian to assist you with your research, in person in the library, by telephone, via email (library@austincc.edu), or online via chat or IM.
