  Check out what the federal government has to say about the prospects for songraphy as a career, including training, working conditions, earnings and job outlook.
• Ultrasound Procedures
  A web site from the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America geared toward patient education of a range of imaging procedures. Although focused on radiology, there are several sonography procedures outlined here, focusing mostly on questions patients might have about specific procedures.
• OBGYN.net Ultrasound Section
  Articles, news, images and video clips related to ultrasound.
• GE Healthcare: Ultrasound
  General Electric, a well-known manufacturer of ulstrasound equipment, offers this website with continuing medical education units.

Safety

• Industry Standards for the Prevention of Work-Related Muskuloskeletal Disorders in Sonography
  Workplace safety standards for sonographers put out by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
• Christenssen, W (2001).Stretch exercises: reducing the musculoskeletal pain and discomfort in the arms and upper body of echocardiographers. Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. 17(3), 123-142.
  A 2001 article that describes a study done to figure out ergonomic issues relating to echocardiography. This article outlines some exercises that can help echocardiographers in the work environment. Requries the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

• All ACC Holdings in PubMed
  PubMed is the interface for the massive index of health science periodicals maintained by the National Library of Medicine. This search is limited to those items available at ACC or through ACC databases.
